More Authentic Fictional Books

LE POISON PEN

Two books come to mind for me. Thomas B. Costain's SILVER CHALICE. This is a story set in the time of Jesus but follows the adventures of a young Greek artiste and the Apostle Luke and other Biblical characters. The way the story connects with the events of the Bible and the setting made me believe it was based on a true story. The second book is Wilbur Smith's River God... set in Egypt Before Christ.... I still believe that story happened, especially that the writer alleged that the story was based on scrolls dug up somewhere in Egypt..... the characters are so memorable... and he captures the culture very well.
